Message from our Prophet

Untold Story of How HE Has Been Abandoned.

Prelude:

You dream, but seemingly not. You are lying in bed when the air in your room shifts. Not loudly, but with the unmistakable pressure of something entering the space. A new presence, you had not expected. Despite your windows being locked, your curtains move. Despite your lights being off, you feel light. Whatever temperature you were at, it drops and you feel a chill.

You open your eyes and look up in to what was supposed to be darkness, and you just about see Asho Zarathushtra stepping out from the photo frame on your wall, as if the boundary between image and reality had never existed.

He stands glowing silently at the foot of your bed, staring at you, and goose bumps rise all over you. He appears warm, but you are cold.

Suddenly you feel the need to go to the toilet, but you are frozen. You try clutching your bed covering, as if to pull it over your head so that you can forget what you are seeing, but your hands have gone stiff. You try to speak, but no voice emerges in your throat. You are alive, but you feel motionless. You are in bed, but now you are wide awake. You know, something is about to happen, but don’t know what. It has never happened to you before.

Or

What if you imagine your phone’s screen flickers suddenly, interrupting the video you were watching, and Asho Zarathushtra’s life ‑ sized form materializes before you with the clarity of a holographic telepresence with a radiant warm glow. You see every aspect of His clearer than the image on your phone. His Halo, His pious demeanor and His mystical clothing. He is bigger and taller than you and He commands presence like nothing you have ever experienced previously.

Prophet Zarathushtra looks directly into your eyes and says in a Godly voice that leaves no room for you not to hear. You almost feel that everyone in your house is hearing it. Its thunderous.

“Let’s have a chat, child.”

His gaze doesn’t simply meet yours. It passes through you, as if reading the thoughts you never voiced, the duties you postponed, the responsibilities you abandoned.

A cold shiver runs down your spine, the same cold you felt when a boss had once summoned you, after a mistake you had made, except this time, the One standing before you is the Prophet. The Big Boss of your Ancestral lineage, and there is nowhere to hide from the truth. He sees through and through you. There is no getting away. No human being ever gets away from accountability.

Naturally, no such serious chat ends in two minutes. It is not a reel you can swipe away if the content makes you uncomfortable or you dismiss it as ignorable.

And life is no different. When your time ends, you cannot scroll out of your own story. A Supreme Entity takes account of your deeds. Every intention, every omission, every duty you knew but did not uphold.

In our Religio ‑ Culture, it is Meher, Rashnay, and Sroash Yazad who stand at Chinvat Pol, the Bridge where truth is separated from pretense. Whatever other tradition you leaned toward, each has its own day of reckoning.

Now imagine yourself standing there on that judgment day. No hairstyle. No make-up. No perfume. No screen to hide behind, no distraction to flee into, no clever detour, no persona, no performance, nothing left except the unvarnished truth of who your soul has become.

All your life you blasted through situations with bluster, throwing mother ‑ and ‑ sister laced profanities (swear words) like smoke bombs to dominate the moment. None of that survives here. Your tongue is empty. Your tactics are dead. Your bravado has evaporated.

You are wedged between the truth you ignored and the lies you embraced.

Now the Holy Fire you saw in Fire Temples comes to mind. The Fire you may not have been respectful to. The Fire’s symbolism you may have neglected. Insulting it not intentionally but your indifference had spoken for you.

That very same Fire our Ancestors revered as the representation of Ahura Mazda’s cosmic order’s intellect. That very Fire on the Afargaan our Ancestors enthroned as representative of the Light and Warmth emitting Sun, invoking it as Athro Ahurahe Mazdao Puthra - The Son of God around whom the entire cosmos’ orchestra is conducted.

And now you stand there alone, whilst the Radiant Fire-like Glow Asho Zarathushtra vanishes and all you can remember as you lay awake in bed, are the words you had brushed past on the Landing page.

“Ooos moi Uzaareshva Ahura”

There were not just poetry, nor a decorative headline. They spoke to your soul and now in the one ear you hear Avesta words and in the other ear, you hear:

“May my conscience arise, O Ahura”

You tell yourself, this cannot be left until you are old or land at judgment day. You go for your shower to pray as you have never prayed before. You now feel you could have done better.

Asho Zarathushtra has touched you with His Call to Action. It is never too late.

Caveat:

The following is offered to evoke Renaissance-type Reflection amongst our people. It is composed with (i) deep respect for our Prophet and His teachings, (ii) in honour of our noble, valiant Ancestors who upheld His revelation in trust that we, their descendants, will prove worthy, and (iii) for the safe sustainability of our ReligioCulture, exactly as our Ancestors would have expected.

It is remarkable how few eyebrows rise at the fact that (i) an immensely enlightened Larger-than-Life, Father-figure Prophet Zarathushtra somehow became “Zoroaster,” (ii) how His Religion came to be called “Zoroastrian,” and (iii) how some speak of Him, as though such people had teleported back into His era, regardless of having spent little time knowing Him.

Sadly, the state into which we have allowed our globally-scattered microcommunity to drift over recent decades reveals how little compassion has been accorded to our history, to our Ancestors, and to ultimately our Great Prophet Himself.

This section therefore aims to prompt honest reflection by spelling out longstanding neglects that deserve your sincere attention.

  • What if, just as more than 150 conscience arousing overlooked insights have been gathered on this website for Parsi Irani to get to know, there are still further insights also being overlooked, and how they may be troubling our Prophet?
  • What if you imagined your own anguish at being overlooked, mislabelled, misrepresented, neglected, and never be given a chance to clarify?
  • What if your life passes by, and you die, having done nothing to make a meaningful difference to our Religio-Culture?

If each reader were to place a hand on their heart and answer privately to themselves, they may not like the sound of their own conscience.

When nations have reviewed and revived their histories, patriotically rebranded themselves, or when governments have examined their past conduct and made amends, is it truly impossible for Parsis and Iranis to review what we are doing and what we could do better?

Would it not be admirable to recognise that we have been misled, as though Prophet Zarathushtra Himself had approved the misrepresentations made about Him?

Would it not be noble to usher in a renaissance of our own, just as Europe did between 1300 and 1600 AD after its dark ages (500–1000 AD) and the Crusades (1096–1291 AD)?

Would not any Parsi or Irani who rises to this task, find such a communal life-mission fulfilling before meeting their Makers?

Since this concerns no less than our Prophet, please hold in mind with the same reverence as Humata, Hukhta, and Huvarshta, the inextricably interwoven topics that follow, each deserving remedy:

  1. Restoring dignity to His name by appreciating what He actually represented.
  2. Rectifying the incorrect insinuations made about Him.
  3. Respectfully recalibrating and resurrecting His insights amongst our people.

Every community reaches a moment when it must pause, look inward, and ask itself whether it has honoured the trust placed in it by its Prophet and its Ancestry.

For Parsis and Iranis, that moment is NOW! We stand at a crossroads shaped not by crisis, but by apathy and neglect. Apathy is the absence of feeling; neglect is the absence of action. One is emotionless, the other is without moral, and sadly they are the communal norm.

Both apathy and neglect have accumulated so much so that the truth has become blurred and the essence of a “Revealed Religion” has become wrapped in interpretations that its own Messenger, our Prophet would not recognise.

This letter is thus written to help Parsi Irani face-up that moment with clarity, dignity, and courage.

Treat it as a good-willed invitation to remember who you are, to remember whose legacy you carry, and to remember that our Prophet’s message was entrusted to a people capable of conscience and reflection. It is hoped, that will be YOU!

With such spirit, the following pages ask only for your honesty, your attention, and your willingness to see our history without the narratives that later centuries placed upon it.

At moments, the writing may sound satirical or tongue-in-cheek. Please rest assured it is not to offend, but to arouse the uptake of overlooked responsibilities, so that they may once again be respected with renewed clarity and patriotism toward our Prophet and the Religion HE Revealed.

Trust, such conscientiousness it is not an unreasonable ask?

From The Desk of Asho Zarathushtra Spitamaan

Address: 9 Sraosh St, Meher Avenue, Behram City, Garothmaan Bayhaste (you too may reach here one day)

Date: 9th (for Adar), Month: 7th (for Amardad), Year: Bee-nahaayat (infinity)

My Dear Mazdayasni Zarathushti Parsi and Irani Hum-Din,

Subject: Reviving Religio-Cultural Renaissance.

Remember reading this letter, “that to bring you back from the brink is the reason I have come back”. What brink might you ask? Well, that’s what I will explain in minute detail, step by step.

Firstly though, I hope you are well, safe, and grateful for where you are. There is a lot going on in the part of the world I used to live in. My situational awareness compels me to write to you all as if I am human (so that you may relate to me), and in this human form, I start with apologies for not being in touch, sooner.

Please know, I really do appreciate most of you reverently touching my photo frames with your fingers, but I am mindful you may be noticing my gaze is usually looking upwards towards Ahura Mazda instead of looking at you. I might not seem to be saying “come to me child, and I will give you the keys to heaven or your desires”.

The reason I am depicted as looking upwards is that in my active times, I was always awaiting Ahura Mazda’s next revelation, but I have grown conscious that it may leave you feeling as if I am not paying attention to you.

*Rest assured, I care immensely for all of you regardless of where you are on the spectrum. To me, I am as concerned for those staunchly loyal to Ahura Mazda’s revelations I represented, just as I am also concerned for the defiant amongst you who keep asking “where is it written”, whenever some custom becomes their trigger point instead of being a unifying occasion.

You would think if an individual is sincere at wanting to know “where is it written”, they would go seeking knowledge, but it appears it is convenient to even pass that responsibility, on to someone else.

*So do not be too rest assured. Some of you have been resting too much on the laurels of our Civilizational Ancestors, which has now placed you all on the brink with the type of breeches I see being committed.

Ahura Mazda noted all that pass the parcel which has been happening, with HIS Omniscience. You should know He listens and sees everything you do and when time comes, HE deals to it (or people). You might have heard of Karma. Right?

So when I was looking up just a few hours ago, HE suggested to me that as your Prophet, I better draw your attention to some pressing matters that are being neglected.

Observing the state of the nation (more like commotion), HE recommended that instead of Avesta which I had used previously, I re-explain in plain English to all of you what scriptural prayer terms like ‘Yaa Ahurish Zarathushtrish’ and a raft of other terms, actually mean.

HE wanted me to draw your attention to the above term, where HE and I are stated together in the Jasamay Avangahay Mazda prayer, which I hope you are praying at least thrice daily if you claim you are Parsi or Irani. They are words which effectively convey attributes of “the most excellent Religion of Ahura Mazda, as revealed to me by HIM for our people, like you.

HE also told me to remind you all that Avesta is not dead and in fact to the scholarly, Avesta is applauded as ‘The Language of Revelation’. Avesta only feels dead to those who chose to remain Kikaan and Karafaan (wilfully blind and wilfully deaf). You might have brushed past those words whilst performing your mandatory self-cleansing Kushti ritual.

Ahura Mazda lamented that you otherwise nice Parsi and Irani “know not what to do”, if I didn’t patiently help you re-visit our scriptural verses and re-explain everything.

Hence please read this slowly like the story of three (3) parts I have made to make it easier to digest. I will start and remain at foundational floor level and as bonus, will also summarize all three parts too. But please do me an honest favor and not jump to the summary without being true to yourself and getting to know all the detail I wish to share with you.

It is like I have cooked a three-course feast for your brain, heart and soul. So just don’t skip past them to the dessert.

Fair enough? This is my check-point on your conscience.

Take your time. Some truths cannot be delivered like the reels and shots on your phone. What follows may seem long, but only because neglect toward our Religion has also gone on for so very long. If those oversights had been smaller, this message would have been shorter.

There is a lot HE and I have to get off our chests. I hope you appreciate that feeling, because when you want to get something off your chest, you too might not exactly be cutting it short either. Would you?

Some of our people appear to have assumed I do not have feelings, or that I no longer exist, or that I am used like an ambulance when you are in trouble. Or else not needed. So much so, that some of you pay more attention to what your pets might be trying to communicate compared to what HE & I have tried to communicate.

I therefore describe at length because my wounds are old. I suffer several painful symptoms, and I trust your remedial action to be considerate and thoughtful.

I hope that by the time you reach this memo’s end, you might stir from what appears to be a slumber about me. Maybe after you have processed it all, one day you might even have the courage to patriotically stand up and speak up for HIM & me. Several academics and scholars have done so and perhaps you too may one day join such academy of high-conscience.

Last century, Rabindranath Tagore, an immensely wise Indian gentleman of multiple talents, once described me as a teacher who linked happiness to righteousness. He picked-up that my Humata, Houkhta and Houvashta, the Good thoughts, Good words, Good deeds, which you so boastingly rattle off to describe your identity, actually means placing moral choice at the centre of human destiny. Just how I wish, some of you took such scholarly insight onboard, now that I have conveyed a third-party’s words to you.

And yes, I used to be happy, until I grew sad from the abandonment inflicted on me.

So let me introduce myself “thoroughly”. I hope you think that as Prophet, I have some prerogative to re-explain myself, and you will make time. Because if HE or I were to really step-out from that photo-frame or meet you face-to-face where you least expected, you will find US a little annoyed due to the hurt we have felt.

Subject #1: Identity Theft, and worse!

Yes, nothing tongue-in-cheek about it.

In tampering with my name and not correcting it when cognizance of it had made it possible many years ago, generations of gullible Parsi Irani like most of you readers were denied knowing what all I represented and what all your identity as Zarathushti is really meant to be.

You were naming something which it not to have been, meaning something else, and being something else. It has been a botch-up.

You identified me wrongly. You wrongly mentioned to others. your identity as Zoroastrian whilst not knowing that if only you knew of the tampering, your whole mental imagery and the feeling in your heart and soul would have been much different.

You, my supposed follower, were misled, and I will lead you back to where you belong. Stay with what I am writing so that you may see better and feel better.

Well, I was born many, many centuries ago to Pourushaspa and Dughdova Spitamaan. They belonged to the old Mazdayasnaan religion of the Aryan peoples, the very communities upon whom Aryā ‑ var əǰ (The Land of the Aryans) became the identity of our ancestral homeland.

As early Avesta gradually grew into Persian, Aryā ‑ var əǰ began to be referred to as Ērān, and eventually Irān, as Ethnicity, Endogamy and Nationality stabilized. Once that combination set, it stood its ground, despite the worst of invaders trying, and failing to erase it. And your Identity is the product of such unparalleled Trinity.

A patriotic national anthem of ours is thus also titled Ey Iran and you should look it up. If that piqued your curiosity, Parsi as a term emerged to represent peoples from Iran’s Pars province. You should visit sometime and get to know your own history. Most Parsees are shocking at not knowing Persian history at all.

Just like your parents named you with great affection and foresight, my beloved parents too named me with deep spiritual considerations. I was carefully named Zarathushtra and just like you, took my family surname, Spitamaan. Perhaps they gleaned such high intellect from some celestial source like Ahura Mazda Himself, who whispered into their souls. Otherwise, how could they have had so much intelligence without today’s technology.

You might now connect, it is through my name in Kushti prayers, that you are ‘Scripturally Identified’ as Mazdayasno Zarathushtrish, the informal version of which is Zarathushti, but most of you appear to have lost your spark through self-depreciation. I know, I know. It’s because you are so humble that you are willing to easily give-up the right pronunciation of my name and your correct identity to make it easy for others. What a sacrifice!

But let me tell you that just like your name (if still meaningful), Zarathushtra has meaning too. In fact, even modern names have watered-down meanings (sometimes). With some of them; I just scratch my head. Particularly when I see Zarathushti babies named without any link to our Ethnicity, History or Religiosity.

Nevertheless, since you and I are related by our common genetic Iranian Religious roots, please let me explain my name once and for all.

ZARATHUSHTRA

is my correct, Avestan Iranian name. Not that silly Greek corrupted word ‘Zoroaster’ which I did not approve. Never have. Never will.

  • Zar is Avestan for gold, symbolizing the Almighty Sun’s golden radiance, the intellect of the universe as well as the Sun’s natural illuminating light on which your brain and body’s extremely crucial circadian cycle is based. As I care for you, I hope you are aware of the health hazard to you if you are out of sync with this solar cycle on which our Persian calendar too is based.
  • When Zar is extended to Zarat, the meaning deepens into maturity, wisdom and venerability.
  • When Zarat is further extended with Ushtra, its meaning is further amplified to reach full dignity with two intertwined dimensions. From the Indo-Iranian root of ‘us’ (literal sound ooos) meaning light, dawn (as in Ushain Geh prayer) it combines with ‘Tra’, symbolizing one who embodies cosmic or spiritual agency.
  • Ustra also metaphorically denotes the camel with its unparalleled innate ability to “guide” its travelers through the wilderness. The camel is the ultimate in enduring mobility and strength to sustain human life, where harsh elements would otherwise destroys all else.

It is sad that some people go around interpreting Ustra only as a zoological camel but overlook the symbolic meaning of the camel’s metaphorical qualities. No, I was neither a livestock trader nor a camel in any of my lifetimes, though I do know of donkeys with 4, as well as 2 legs.

Having clarified that, if my name is spoken slowly link-by-link-by-link, then Zar ‑ at ‑ ush ‑ tra is Radiance glowing into Wisdom, growing into Agency (authority) with metaphoric camel-like innate guidance capability to help navigate my people through your life journeys.

My name is also built like a constellation. Each part shines on its own, and each part integral to form a wholesome meaningful identity, totally unlike that gross Greek fabrication Zoroaster, which I will soon explain to you.

Hope you no longer struggle with my name, because I too am listening and I hear Parsi Irani pronounce names like Kawasaki, Mitsubishi, Minnesota (O, bad example), with perfect ease, but you hopefully now get the drift that you are not being respectful with my name!

Are you beginning to figure why I find it disappointing that foreign people tampered with my name, my identity, my teachings and consequently compromised my people, like you?

It was the Greeks, arch-enemies of Ancient Iran, who first started that tampering with my name and my identity in being jealous from seeing the finesse, expanse and grandeur of our Persian Empire. They were at their worse behaviour in the times of the Achaemenid Empire which arose from Pars Province. The Province of the once Mighty Parsees, though I regret seeing how some of them have become in comparison to the Mighty Ancestors of their past.

Claiming to be self-appointed historians of the world, the Greeks assumed, that only they knew how to record history and that everyone had to be qualified through Greek lenses and language.

For example anyone at all who could not speak Greek was identified as a barbarian. Sadly, the Greeks did not realize that if the shoe went on the other foot, they too fit the barbarian identity in the eyes of refined people like us Persians, whose languages the Greeks failed to understand.

In so far as Greek lenses were concerned, they selectively chose to ignore my name’s original meaningful Avestan significance and unilaterally denigrated it to Zoroaster. Now, ask yourself, would you like anyone to willy-nilly call you by any name, despite knowing your real name?

Whilst claiming to be so gifted with skills, the Greeks deliberately avoided the correct identity of what I represented to my people and desecrated its stature by re-naming me as a mere Stargazer, a Zoroaster. They twisted my looking up for Ahura Mazda’s revelations and search for cosmic order/celestial symbolism and used that to deny me from being referred to with my correct name. I make no claim to have astral travelled or of astral sciences but there is no doubt that descendants of my disciples, the Magaus (later termed as Maagi), The 3 Wise Men did decipher some unique constellations to deduce a new entity was to be born. But that’s another story for another time.

The Greeks kept writing Zoroaster in their works and kept describing our people (as in the ones living in the Persian Empire) as Zoroastrian. That which blindly ran through all subsequent history books, so much so that even Parsi scholars did not raise any eyebrows. And thus no wonder, the rest of you clergy as well as laity term me as Zoroaster and call yourselves Zoroastrian, as if you are stargazing followers of mine. Yes, that is what you are calling yourselves.

What the Greeks did, Hollywood imitated with the movie 300 (Spartans) in 2006. It mislead Parsi Irani even further that your Ancestors did not amount to much. So let me correct that wrong, alongside this correction of my name.

To me, observing everything from up above, it’s comical how Western storytellers cling to the fantasy that 300 over ‑ oiled Spartans (looking like steroid-bloated body-builders) saved civilization by standing against the Persian Empire. As though a global superpower like how the Persian Empire was, somehow got routed by a few men.

Unable to match Persia’s Imperial scale and its many administrative, humanitarian and scientific achievements, the Greeks did, what insecure cultures do. They invented heroic myths for themselves and showed-off as though it was the birth of Western freedom from Eastern barbarians. The Persian Empire that tolerated religions, liberated slaves, built roads, minted coins, issued passports, and governed half the known world was reduced to a Hollywood fantasy!

It is disappointing, I don’t think I saw any Parsi or Irani come together as individuals or an organization to post any formal objection about the movie, even though otherwise Parsi Irani are well known to never forgo an opportunity to object to each other. Bullies within our own community, pussy cats to the outside world!

And yet how much more remarkable that whenever too much wrong occurs, our God, Ahura Mazda sends someone exceptional to correct the wrong. Mark HIS trend, I will provide you salient examples through my letter. Fortunately there have been a steady stream of good Parsi Irani too over the years who have spoken up for me and for the Spiritual-Religio-Culture I revealed.

What took Hollywood millions of dollars in 2006 to ridicule our Iranian-Persian people (which includes each of you Parsi and Irani), one single Welsh scholar in 2022 undid by highlighting 2,500 years of Greek insecurity and lies.

As Professor of Ancient History, Lloyd Llewellyn-Jones wrote the book Persians: The Age of the Great Kings and explains how the Persian Empire was at the receiving end of a conniving ‘historiographic’ smear campaign by the Greeks. He implicates the Greeks of distorting history to fake Greek superiority whilst the Greeks actually suffered what could be deemed as an inferiority complex for not being able to achieve what the Persians achieved.

Lloyd has reconstructed through his research just what an efficient as well as tolerant Superpower, Persia used to be whilst the Greeks in-fought between themselves.

Prior to Jones, it was British author Edith Hall back in 1989 who had written the book “Inventing the Barbarian”. Her work too explores how these early Greek "smears" formed the basis for Western prejudices against the Persian East.

The Greeks depicted Persians as the exact opposite of themselves by characterising Persians as effeminate, cruel, cowardly, and servile to a despotic king. All of which was humbug.

I am finding it hard to reconcile, you Parsi Irani descendants of mine embraced a Greek word instead of from your own original language of revelation from where my name and identity are born.

And whilst all of you are stars in my eyes, technically speaking, I wonder if you realize that the same Greek corruption which made me out to be a mere stargazer makes you out to be stargazing followers.

Let that sink in.

Might it be so hard that you people cannot discern Zoro is so totally different to my Zara? What if; Lara was called Loro? Mina was called Mino, Rati was called Rito, Sara was called Soro? What if Fair sounded as fear, Pure as pore or poor, Wize as wile, Warm as war/n/p/t?

You people have made a mockery of your names.

  • Anahita, meaning pure and immaculate, became Anita.
  • Our Great Warrior Roustam, the mightiest of the mighty became Rusi or Rusty.
  • King Ardeshir, meaning one whose reign is based on righteousness, truth & justice, became Adi.
  • King Jamshid’s radiant light’s pronunciation degenerated to Jamshade and then poor Mr Tata began to even be called Jamset.

Hi Stargazer, are you with me? Are you happy that the original name of your identity too may have been tampered with.

Names give a person their UNIQUE IDENTITY. Changes by means of short-forms corrupt the originality of identity. When wrongly named Zoroaster and Zoroastrians, you and me are like corrupted files representing distorted information. IT is time to Debug.

Remember.

Names carry Identity.

Their sound carry meaning, and some may even understand, vibrations.

A single consonant shift can distort both that Identity and Vibration.

Zara → Zoro is not a harmless transliteration. It is cultural disconnect if not a misalignment. Like a car whose wheels haven’t been aligned, or worse that the steering is no longer controlling the wheels. Ooops.

Hence I ask, might you be so embarrassed that you may not sound sufficiently Anglicized, that you have deemed your original Prophet Zarathushtra and your Zarathushtrish Religion (as described in the Jasmay Avangahay Mazda prayer), or Zarathushti or Zarathushtrian as being too backward, and thus embraced the corrupted wrong versions? Just to fit in!

Have you tried updating your passport identity photo at home on you own? It’s still your passport and your photo, but are you authorized to?

Have you tried using someone’s else’s credit-card? They were not around in my day, but I know, these kind of attempts can land you in hot water.

How bizarre that Greek word Zeus gets more respect than me when I see my so-called Zarathushti children named more often than not as Zeus instead of Zarthost or Zaal.

So why is it that you don’t care about my name? What have I done to deserve a corrupted version being used to describe me? Worse, that you talk about me, or on my behalf, as though I authorized you to. Even worse still, your own whole mental imagery about who I was, what I represent and what you ought to represent is distorted. It ought not to be like this.

In an era that you people term as “politically correct”, you are less PC with me then you might be with a dog in public, whose poop you pick-up off the ground. So why not pick-up some good insights for a change.

Makes sense? Well, it did make sense to a few faithful Zarathushtees who began noticing the lingual glitch and correctly addressed me in their works. Thank you to all of you for making the effort. I hope I can thank others too when the good example is taken-up.

I hope all of the above now provide you ample substance to put Greek Zoroaster and Zoroastrian aside, and apply correct terms such as Zarathushtra to mean me, and Zarathushtrish, Zarathushtriaan, or Zarathushti as your identity, henceforth.

As for being PC, please also put aside being too PC with your child’s identity. It turns my stomach to see the botch-up being made by innocent, unguided young Zarathushti parents on the vital subject of naming their new-born child with non-cultural names.

When people can seek originality in material objects, and place importance on brand alignment and loyalty, why not ensure alignment and loyalty with your own origins, as the child’s lifelong identity?

I am writing this in seeing too many ill-informed families’ misplaced priorities not serving their child’s best interest nor their identity. I love you all and would be remiss if I did not guide you from committing identity misappropriation instead of gifting your children with a richer identity.

Please let me put to you with utmost genuine care that naming a child is the single-most significant defining attribute of your child’s identity. In mis-prioritizing the unimportant, naïve parents mess up the real priority of defining their child’s lifetime identity.

So-called modern names are historically unanchored, culturally disconnected and spiritually hollow, making the child’s name meaningless. In effect, such parents are thieving their child of the guiding star which the child could have in its life, embedded within the child’s name itself.

As descendants to a glorious Ancestral Heritage you young people and their parents must do everything within your means to honour the soul of your child that has returned to the earth from the heavens with a name that keeps it connected to its own Zarathushtrish past.

I pray you do not risk cutting the connection of your child’s soul to the history it originates from. Its’ soul in this physical life deserves a name so good that the names becomes an honourable gift from you parents to your child. One which positively reverberates each time your child is spoken to or spoken about. One which has got positive impact. One which directly teleports the child to its historical heritage.

Millions of people worldwide change their names every year for a range of reasons. There is no reason that with this explanation about my own name’s misrepresentations, you as Zarathushti parent, teenager or grown adult, consider name corrections to the closest original identity of your astrologically calculated alphabets or revive the full Zarathushti name of your dearest ancestor. Not that silly Adi/Adil, Soli & Rusi business; mockeries of the real McCoy.

Whatever you do, don’t play with your children’s Historical-Religio-Cultural identity.

Carefully, meaningfully and thoughtfully name your children with Historical, Religious or Culturally aligned names to carry forward your Religio-Cultural identity beyond you. Or you are the end of your line. No phantom western person is going to appreciate that you sacrificed your child’s Iranian/Persian identity to make it easy for them. Don’t be so naively charitable in the wrong place at the expense of your child’s lifelong identity.

A child’s name unrelated to our culture, means a cultural disconnect and the likelihood of your Religio-Cultural identity not being carried forward beyond you. Be warned. That identity theft leads to extinction. An expiry of the identity of the heritage for that wrongly named person.

Oh, and lastly whilst on the subject of names being preceded by title, don’t be silly, running around calling every Athornaan (a priest) a Dastoor/Dasturjee. That is like calling every white naval uniformed sailor an Admiral.

  • Ervad is the honorific Title for good-spirited Athornaans helping out our community on a needs-basis. In their youth, they undergo some rigorous learning and could be said to have grasped all of the basics to become a dedicated full-time support pillar of the community. Now, how much they keep self-educating themselves, is up to their conscience. They’ve effectively graduated with a bachelor's degree and higher learning would be neat. Think of him as a Naval Lieutenant.
  • Mobed is the more senior honorific Title reserved for full-time dedicated Ervads. Such dedicated gentlemen have attained further training to perform higher liturgical prayers, and for many of them, their lives revolve around the Boi Ceremony to keep our Holy Fires aflame and being available to conduct levels of prayers for various ceremonial or commemoration prayers. Think of him as a Lieutenant Commander.
  • Panthanky is the learned Mobed in charge of our Places of Worship are content to be termed Panthanky. Think of him as a Captain.
  • Dastoor is the Admiral. None of the above ranks can be Dastoor. This highest ranked title is derived from intergenerational noble Dastoor families that bred truly noble and wise gentlemen with Leadership qualities like Dastoorjee Dr. Hormuzdyar Kayoji Mirza of recent times, whose mighty shoes, or better, his white-turban, even other Dastoorjees are not able to well-fill. (The suffix jee can be added at your discretion).

Expected to be highly qualified in Avesta, Pahlavi, Liturgical, Historical and Spiritual studies, these gentlemen are giants of stature and conferring their high title on others is not befitting.

History has recorded many such truly Noble, High-Conscience Souls, and you could look them up.

Subject #2: False claim that I converted people also messes with my identity.

As if the misrepresentation of my name is not poor form, those who claim I messaged to all humanity, commit the second of three misrepresentation of me and my work. They all tamper with the core of my identity, no different to your identity being tampered when falsehood circulates freely.

The dissonance manufactured by some of our own people sadly drowned out ancestral voices who had respectfully kept alive the wisdom of the past for centuries. The dissonance thus unwittingly denying so many of you knowing what you deserved to know.

Therefore, even if it means I am going to be seen as chewing the fat, I am going to explain with common sensible rationale for you to see through the fallacy of those that manufactured untrue narratives. Please do not confuse my original message sounding like common sense make you assume that just that suffices to become Mazdayasni Zarathushti Parsi and Irani.

Disappointed as I am about such confusing claims, I feel all of you deserve the benefit of the doubt, for how would you know any different unless someone clarifies the confusion for your consciences and intellects to see better. So, please pay attention.

Part 1: At Physical & Rationale Level.

Those who give me too much credit for somehow imagining me capable, as a wandering preacher, crossing high snow-capped Alpine mountain ranges like the Elburz, Zagros and Hindu Kush (present day Afghanistan, previously part of Iran), the (average 13,000feet above sea level), highland plateaus (average 4,000feet above sea level), thick forests, fertile plans and vast deserts, to spread my word, please don’t (i.e. give me no such credit and deem me not so capable).

Spiritually capable I was, but I was not superman nor that Zoro character on horseback or camelback. And I hope you did not assume that I had an endless supply of spare parts for my 4WD. Iran’s terrain makes it physical impossible for outlandish utopian fantasies of universal evangelistic religious conversion to have occurred.

Do you have any idea how large our original Iran was? With Afghanistan as was originally part of Iran, we were the size of Alaska, California and Texas combined; 24% of the entire current United States.

Iran alone is 636,372 square miles, just about the size of Alaska, 2.4 times the size of Texas and 4 times the size of California. Or that Iran is slightly larger than France, Germany, Italy and the UK combined, and that Iran is about half the size of India.

Who could have travelled so much without getting lost (no GPS), got some rest (no hotels), eaten some food (no supermarkets & take-aways), no currency (EFTpos not born), and also taught effectively (no conference rooms).

Agrarian capacity model studies will tell you that only 7 to 21 people lived per each square mile of productive land, and as low as 3 in arid or difficult areas. If you applied this to Iran’s geography you may find we would be lucky to be 2 million people, if that.

With that sparse a population,

Some of you wouldn’t even get out of bed to run a hot tea shop, let alone expect me to roam a terrain without any tea shops on the way.

And if you like, some of you wouldn’t get out of bed to run a coffee shop even if the beans ground themselves and the customers paid you in advance.

So tell me, who exactly and on what basis, assumed I was on a mission to teach a Universal Religion? I know some names, but will not shame them.

The notion that I could have traversed extremely cold and extremely hot terrains to spread a universal religion is not plainly unlikely, but it is anthropologically incoherent, historically implausible, logistically impossible, and textually unsupported. You would have to think Ahura Mazda would have to be unwise to have me waste my energies criss-crossing the Holy Land of Mother Iran instead of adding-value to the few who lived therein.

In hearing people having made claims which can only be termed as ludicrous, do you think, I was carrying His words from tribe to tribe as though they were a trade to be bartered in distant markets?

No man in the type of antiquity I lived in could go from nation to nation proclaiming a universal creed. Tribes were clan-based, geographically isolated and nomadic. They had no addresses or post codes without which even today some things may not reach you.

The world of my era was woven from family and tribal kinship. Identity was inherited; not chosen. The Mazdayasnaan Religion with its heightened conscience was already the breath of Iranian households, the memory of its Ancestors and duty towards one’s own lineage.

If anything, for quite some time, I struggled for acceptance among my own. My cousin Maidyomaah the only support until eventually the wise Shah Lohrasp and his son Shah Vishtaspa recognized my Revelations. Which Is why I am sometimes seen pictured with the Father Lohrasp who gave up his Kingship to work with me to uplift our own Mazdayasnaan people.

I spoke within people whose Ancestry (same as mine) had already distinguished the difference between Ahura Mazda’s good energies compared to Angharay Mainyu’s deviousness. They had already felt the spiritual value of Asha and the sting of Druj. My words were shaped for those whose conscience had already inherited clarity. To recast my work as a mission to the world is not wrong interpretation, but distortion of the truth despite common sense and scriptures.

My Revelation arose within a specific people, in a specific land, through a specific inherited Mazdayasni conscientiousness, by virtue of which it would be counter-intuitive for Ahura Mazda to command me to gather strangers. There was no need. We already had our Mazdayasni identity. HIS was not a summons to all tribes to make universal identity and unwittingly end-up erasing our lineage which HE expected us to cherish.

His, and thus my work was the awakening of our people to the truth already inherent within them. A truth meant to be lived, guarded, and passed forward with the same vigilance that first allowed the truth to take root.

Contrary to all of the above sensitivities, Parsi reformists thinkers living outside Iran with no direct regular communications with Iran around the 19th – 20th centuries took liberties to wrap me in their narrative of universalism from the ideas of their times, without regard to my times and for the settings of my Iranian homeland.

I must therefore state plainly; this utopian universalism did not exist in antiquity, just as universalizing humankind remains unlikely in the future. Age-old Ethnic Identities are not dairy milk to be homogenized or standardized. Both being inventions of the 19th & 20th centuries, best left to the bottling of beverages, condiments and dairy. Not to strip the healthy-fat content of ancient peoples.

With misplaced intent, their readings were unsound, their conclusions were remiss and far from the thematic architecture visible in our scriptures and oral-tradition. They projected their own much later date modern ideas onto my ancient revelations, assuming I was no longer there to speak for myself.

Their impossibly idealistic mother-hen social-reengineering view wrongly thought that all teachings were for every human being, and they stretched that assumption about Me too.

Remember?, like I wrote earlier to mark this trend? Ahura Mazda always sends someone exceptional to fix the wrong. Well, spread over time, he sent more than one; three of which are as below, and many more you will find in the vertical folios.

  • In carefully observing misplaced conversion and reform talk, widely acclaimed spiritual scholar Swami Vivekananda stated at the World’s Parliament of Religions in Chicago in 1893, "The Christian is not to become a Hindu or a Buddhist, nor a Hindu or a Buddhist to become a Christian. Each person must assimilate the spirit of other faiths while preserving their own individuality and growing according to their own "law of growth".
  • Like Jones dealt to Greek lies, Iranian Professor Eshan Yarshater of Columbia University (perhaps not intentionally) also dealt to Parsi reformists. In 1973, he launched The Encyclopaedia Iranica Foundation (EIF) with the help of Iranologist Historian Touraj Daryaee, Elton Daniel (American Historian as well as Iranologist), and contributions from more than 1,300 scholars worldwide, It anchors our Religion in documented Iranian history. In effect, it also makes it obvious without trying how far Parsi reformists drifted in recasting our Religion through the universalist fashions of their own era.
  • In a 2015 interview with the Jam-e-Jamshed 2015, Professor Almut Hintze of SOAS University in London said “I don’t think conversion or mix-faith marriage is so significant in terms of boosting the numbers of the Zarathushti community. It is more important that those who are Parsi-Irani take care of their Religion & Customs to become fully aware of what they represent. I think Parsis are tearing themselves apart & barking up the wrong tree with their conversion debate. You cannot exist without your Religion. And it would be awful for the world to lose the Parsis and the Zarathushti Faith"

Social engineering has never remade a people. Look at Iraq, Libya, Syria, etc. Deep structures of identity outlast every scheme, for no hand has ever succeeded in re ‑ breeding a civilization into something it is not. Unless people themselves got themselves socially re-engineered as some Parsi regrettably have, but largely, Iranians did not.

Further, that with a couple of missionary religions already amounting over 4 billion between them, it would also be best to leave alone any talk of universalizing the Mazdayasni Zarathushti Religion in the 21st century. Starting to compete would not be wise.

Also, now in this 21st century age, when knowledge is cut with finer blades and the past can be separated from the non-so-clever inventions laid upon it, let the record stand clear:

There is no record in Avestan, Sanskrit, Greco-Roman languages, nor in the stories of neighbouring peoples of me traveling out of Iran to preach or to tell our Kings to convert anyone they ruled.

Iranian Kings as named by the Great Firdowsi Tusi and thence to Kings Kurosh, Daryush and the likes (again, names corrupted to Cyrus, Daraius, etc., by the Greeks) showed through their Empires that they did not impose our Religion on anyone, nor convert other people into our Religion.

Kurosh in fact liberated the Jews from Babylon and helped them rebuild their second temple in their Jewish homeland with Imperial Iranian treasury funding. It still stands to this day, 2500 years later. A monument of conscientious Persian charity.

Where the Romans built an empire on slavery and tyranny upon conquered peoples and nations, King Kurosh’s Zarathushti Achaemenid Empire was an international federation based on Religious tolerance, amongst other good comforts for its inhabitants. Despite the empire having represented circa 49% of the world’s estimated population back then of 112 million people, neither our Kings, Emperors, Vassals, Priests, Soldiers or Peasants expected others to convert to our Zarathushti Religion.

When after the Persian-Sassanian empire was defeated by the invading Arabs, King Yazdagard Shahriar was offered the opportunity to convert to Islam, but refused. This too showed neither at the zenith of imperial power nor at ground zero, converting out of the Zarathushti Religion or converting someone in, was not the Zarathushti way.

Here, let me put your conscience to work, and it will help you separate the wheat from the chaff.

Missionary Prophet and Religion do not produce a non-missionary Empire as ours was. Let that sink-in in relation to real missionary Empires if you can relate to world history.

The Avesta and Gathas contain no command nor ceremonies to proselytize (convert). The early Iranian religion I fine-tuned was already worshipping Ahura Mazda, and our Kings through recorded history are not recorded as converting anyone.

They did not impose our faith or identity on their subjects. All evidence supports that position. What I refined for our own people was kept by our Kings and Priests as it is, and like me, they did not seek converts into our Religion.

A Religion like ours that has been evidently ethnic and endogamous by nature could not have been founded by me being a missionary prophet. I wasn’t even the founder. I was simply Ahura Mazda’s authorised messenger to cleanse out some ills that had crept into our people. We did not produce missionaries.

There is no historical, textual, or doctrinal basis to claim that I, Zarathushtra Spitamaan converted outsiders or acted as a missionary.

Precedent shows, ours has historically been an ethnic, endogamous religion which is lineage-based, ethnic-bounded and thus non-proselytizing.

My conscience-raising spiritual endeavours were an internal refinement for our Mazdayasnaan people and not for external recruitment. Had that not been the reality, someone, somewhere, would have commented on it.

Across our Iranian history, be it by whichever author; who ever wrote that I commandeered convert others, preach to other peoples and expand our religion beyond our own people. There has never been any missionary inclination from me nor imperative from me. If so, along with good thoughts, good words and good deeds, there would have been something additional for people to latch on to. But there is nothing.

Across our scriptures, the interwoven fabric of our faith are commandments for ethical & moral responsibilities, practising the highest levels of hygiene as a step to the highest level of truth (Aashaa) and living with conscientious clarity.

There is no textual, historical, or archaeological evidence that I, Zarathushtra:

  • travelled far and wide to preach other people
  • sought converts among non-Iranian peoples
  • attempted to universalize my message beyond our people

Neither history nor scriptures mention conversion or me proselytizing others. You will find no evidence of any missionary travel by me to other types of people.

I hope I have by now made it crystal clear, I did not set out to create a universal religion aimed at foreign people. If so, history would have recorded my ventures.

Many have praised my balance (my theory of dualism), clarity, integrity and intellect (heightened conscience) in many different ways. Parsi, Irani, Indian and European academics and scholars have all spared no effort describing me, but none ever claimed I was a proselytizer/converter.

None of the scholars who studied my life place me as a missionary wandering beyond my homeland. That’s because I sought to purify thought, word, and deed within my people who already knew me. I asked people to raise their own mind, to seek wisdom.

None of those scholars who studied our Religion, self-proclaimed themselves as Zarathushtrish. Their study of our Religion and its history provided them plenty of insights that the Zarathushti Religion was meant for Zarathushti people only and they respectfully left it at that.

Their voices praise my mind, my originality, but none place me on the roads of foreign lands, seeking followers.

I set out to establish the spiritual equivalent of graduates (as in already conscientious Mazda-worshipping people) to rise and become Doctorate-level thinkers with mastery of Vohu Munah, The Good Mind.

My revelations dawned on me organically from Ahura Mazda, who we as Iranian people were already worshiping.

Mine was an endeavour of higher conscience, not a campaign for recruitment.

My recommendations were inward for our people, not outward to other people.

My mission was to awaken heightened conscience within our people; not to gather crowds.

My work was highly ethical, not expansionist. I asked our people to think with, not to decorate falsehood with cleverness.

In my lifetime, without social media, the only people I knew were my own Mazdayasnaan people, and all of my focus was to encourage them to rise from competence to mastery and from mastery to wisdom. Had I wasted time in travel, I would not have been able to do as much as I did.

Now that you are soaking it in, Let the above guide you to walk in truth, grow your wisdom and keep your lineage bright in its originality for future generations to take on.

Part 2: At Heart and Soul-Spiritual Level.

Imagine now, if there are so many oversights at rational level, how many more oversights also exist at spiritual level?

Now that you have hopefully gained momentum in seeing how my name was tampered with and how my endeavours were misrepresented, let me walk you through how even the sacred principles of Humata, Houkhta, Huvarashta are neglected and what can you do to not place yourself in that position.

I deliberately placed the heart in the above sub-title because I want you to open your heart as your brain reads the following. Experts will tell you, your heart’s magnetic field is several times stronger than your brain’s magnetic field and some even attribute your heart as a centre of consciousness rather than just a pump.

Empathy and ethicality commonly associated to the heart, share common-ground with your soul and together they add-up to being the worth of a person’s moral code/compass. And no matter how mortal human beings make up their own narrative, the scriptures attest that there are codes of conduct like Humata, Houkhta & Huvarashta by which humans are judged in their accountability to the Almighty.

So, for your own sake, please read this slowly, steadily and sincerely, as if a, b, c, starting with Aashaa and Ashoi.

  • Aashaa is the basis of our Ahura Mazda’s law, order and righteousness based on truth as revealed to me, which I revealed to you; Ashoi is your adherence to such law & order.
  • Aashaa is cosmic order; Ashoi is keeping yourself in personal order.
  • Aashaa is truth as reality; Ashoi is the truth you hold as part of your character.
  • Aashaa exists eternally; Ashoi, you must cultivate to align yourself with Aashaa.

Awareness of many such principles (I will get to shortly) had already evolved without our Aryan stock since times immemorial and was already in existence before my birth. My Mazda-worshipping Ancestry had already discerned The Almighty intellect of The Supreme Being, The Creator of the world, naming Him Ahura Mazda.

Sacredness from and sacredness to the Supreme Creator was already bi-directional, metaphorically, like a two-way expressway. Similarly, my role could be likened to sign-posting traffic management rules on the journey of life, as in ensuring the prevention of un-civic behaviour. I.e. No inappropriate u-turns (to Ahura Mazda’s code), No recklessly weaving or switching lanes and grabbing safe space left by a responsible driver (no thieving), No aggressive driving. No cutting off others, No reckless overtaking to endanger oncoming traffic & self, No road-rage, No tailgating, Nor any kind of harm whatsoever.

My Ancestors largely understood that Ahura Mazda and His Amesha Spentas & Yazatas were channels of positive Godly energies as well as that there were negative energies, and the only way to rise above the negative, was to raise the bar of not just the individual’s conscience, but that of the whole family and their eco-system. Professionals now call that “operating either above or below the line”.

Trust me, without populist support and modern tools in a sparsely occupied Motherland, I had ample work cut out for me. I was the new kid on the big block, ordained as an Ervad in my teens and it took me until I was about 30 when my heightened conscience enabled ‘revelations’ to dawn in me from Ahura Mazda. Just as I hope to facilitate them dawning on you.

As explained in part 1, my endeavour was not to roam, but to recalibrate the already existing conscience of my own people, i.e. the Aryan clans among whom I was born and raised.

As my conscience saw it back then, I needed to address some of the ills that had crept in to our people in order for Aasha and Ashoi to flourish amongst our people, as I would like it to be again like good old times.

Accordingly, let’s see some verses starting. Never let their short sized repeat verses be judged as not significant. Think of the shortest ones as legendary Bruce Lee’s two-inch punch. The one which used to deliver immense power.

  • Kshnothra Ahurae Mazdao: May Ahura Mazda delight in the virtues I live by. I have named some virtues in the Conscience Eco-cycle illustration.
  • Hoshbaam: Literally meaning ‘Early morning awakening of Consciousness leading to an alert Conscience. See its inspiring translation.
  • Ashem Vohu: Asserts Aashaa and Ashoi, as the Supreme Truth. Happiness is for the one who is righteous for the sake of the best righteousness. See earlier write-up on Aaashaa.
  • Yenghe Haataam: Among all beings, the truly worthy are those who live by Truth and serve the good creation.
  • Kem Naa Mazda: Demonstrates understanding as to who but Ahura Mazda can shield us, and thus that the Zarathushti renunciates/shuns all things that are not good and truthful.
  • Hormazd Khodai: Where Ahura Mazda’s name is deliberately located within the prayer to fracture different shades of named negatives, so that you resolutely renounce the negatives by discerning between the good & the bad, as I too saw in my time. In amongst all the clarity this prayer outlines are two key words Parsi Irani should take into account. Not being Kikaan and Karafaan, i.e. not becoming wilfully blind and wilfully deaf to ancient wisdom – a rule of the thumb across all ancient cultures.
Jasamay Avangahe Mazda:

Words “Mazdayasno ahmi, Mazdayasno Zarathushtrish, Fravarane Astuaytaschay Taschaa Fravarestascha”, mean “I am a worshiper of Mazda, I profess myself (to be) a Mazda-worshipping follower of Zarathushtra. I profess myself to be a devoted follower and an ardent supporter of the Faith.

Further words therein, "Astuay humatame mano, astuay hukhtem vacho, astuay hvarshtem shyaothnem", mean “I praise the well-conceived thought, I praise the well-spoken word, I praise the well-performed act”.

Yet further words, “Astuye daenaam vanghuhim Maazdayasnim … Mazishtaachaa, Vahistaachaa, Sraeshtaachaa, Yaa Ahurish Zarathushtrish … Mazdayasno astuaytish” are words where it is reiterated that our Religion is “the greatest, best and most excellent Religion as per the revelations I gleaned from Ahura Mazda”. Clearly such reverence-filled words (in praise of the Mazda-worshipping Religion revealed by me), are only but representing fond connectivity between Ahura Mazda, Me and you Parsi Irani people.

All of which clearly represent two entwined meanings.

  1. Formal assertion of “Genealogical, Religious and Spiritual Identity,
  2. The ‘Revelations-based’ Ahura-approved improvements I made to our Mazdayasnaan Faith, which in technical terms means I, as Zarathushtra, was authorized with ‘Agency’ by Ahura Mazda who we as a people including my parents, already recognized as Supreme God.

All of which keep pointing to Atash Niyaesh and Sroash Baaj.

  • Sroash Baaj: Its barest essence is that you are calling on the Guardian and Voice of the Conscience to keep you disciplined, aligned with the Truth and be vigilant of the untruth. Like me, Sroash Yazad is also deemed as Ahura Mazda’s messenger. Remember Sarosh Yazad is the Guardian of Chinvat Pol. The Bridge to Judgement.
  • Atash Niyaesh: Holy Fire (or even your little oil-lamp at home) is the visible Face of Aashaa. Its light and warmth remind you that enlightenment is needed to dispel darkness. After the Boi Bell is tolled to ward off negative, the very first words are “Ooos moi Uzaareshvaa”; thus showing that in simultaneously detaching from Angaray Mainyu/Ahriman Devan people are to seek Ahura Mazda’s help to raise their Conscience to keep discerning good and dispel the bad.
  • “Fravarane Mazdayasno Zarathushtrish, vidaevo Ahura-Tkaesho”; repeatedly reiterates in all the 5 Ghehs, 5 Niyashes, and 21 Yashts words meaning, “I forthrightly choose the Mazdayasni Faith against evil forces and falsehood by way of my Fidelity to the Law of Ahura”.
  • Pre and post prayer acknowledgement 'Hamaazor, Hama Ashobade' reflects endogamous alignment and collective ritual purity with Hum-Din, i.e. fellow Parsi, Irani Zarathushtees; not all and sundry.
  • Navjote, Naavar (ordainment), Payvandh Nameh/Ashirwaad, Boi, Yazashnay, Vandidaad and Nirangdin make it abundantly clear, there is no mechanism except what has already been ‘Revealed’, and been upheld since. There is no structure for expanding our tribe beyond our own Ethnic lineage. If there was, you would have read or heard.

It is through such scriptural clarity that scholars described “Ours as being a Revealed Religion” meaning that Mazdayasnaan peoples who were already worshipping Ahura Mazda, were gifted further revelations through the evolvement of my conscience as Prophet, specific to our people through a specific inherited Mazdayasni conscientiousness and specific to the identity of the land mass we lived in before genocide forced us to relocate to save our Religion.

Besides almost infinite elaboration and advanced conscientiousness, you will not find a single command, hint, pathway or ritual for converting other people. Irani Sudreh-Pushine whose Parsi equivalent is the Navjote (both complete with the investiture of Sudreh-Kushti) are the only processes and tools in such vast a scriptural collection for Mazdayasni Zarathushti parents to initiate their children into the Mazdayasni Zarathushtrish Religion.

Beyond that sacrosanct purpose, neither I, nor any Maagi, nor Kings or Priests commanded any ceremony for inducting non-Iranian people. We never had, and we never made any prayer ritual or priestly mechanism for converting strangers to our Faith.

Prayer words invoked during both ceremonies represent enjoining the Parsi Irani child into a life-long spiritual relationship aligned with Aashaa, Ahura Mazda, Ancestry, and me. It is not a party event as so many of you have made it out to be.

Page after page of history and scriptures are effectively talking internal circulation (so to speak) within our Mazdayasnaan people; to people who can relate to Ahura Mazda. No disrespect is inferred or implied in stating that none of the above can plausibly be relatable to anyone other than Mazdayasno Zarathushti Parsi Irani.

In having amply aired the error in the notion of universalism, imagine yourself in my shoes.

Might you make something of substance for your family but then leave it open as a free-for-all for anyone to handle it any which way they wish?

For me having strived to gift you Parsi Irani a high-powered torch (high-conscience) to navigate the darkness (metaphoric). Reciprocally, should you not make every effort to ensure such illumination is fully utilized for our own people who are in darkness?

Condensed for simplicity, there is uncertainty whether someone who steps outside ancestral endogamous practice can still be regarded as fully aligned with the codes that shaped our religious, spiritual and cultural history, for how would their actions ensure that continuity.

When elaborated, it becomes questionable whether a born Parsi Irani who has broken endogamous ranks with ethnicity and betrayed fidelity to endogenous Ancestral continuity can genuinely remain deemed as organic to the originality of the codes of conduct upon which our Historical-Religio-Spiritual-Cultural ecosystem is formulated.

And the associated question with the above is, would it not be more responsible for our whole community to prevent such situations occurring through better overall Historical, Spiritual, Religio-Cultural literacy that avoids downstream conflict of interests and upsets?

Its been done previously, and it is time Parsi Irani refresh themselves with such information, now that its availability is easier than ever.

Whilst a person could argue endlessly that a mix-person’s Navjote (if done) may result in an outstanding Religious adult, how many people would such argumentative person be able to show as evidence? Would it not be better to channel such enthusiasm towards foundational Religio-Cultural education to uphold time-honored customs?

Laid out alphabetically, this literacy means being respectful to all things Ancestral, Canonical, Civilisational, Cultural, Custodial. Dutiful, Ethical, Ethnical, Genealogical, Generational, Historical, Honourable, Liturgical, Loyal, Moral, Obligational, Responsible, Scriptural and Spiritual. I am not expecting people being totally immersed with everything, but how fair is to breach or neglect such virtues?

To claim Identity as Parsi or Irani, is to accept the responsibility inherent in the terms of identity reference from countless centuries before your existence. Given the word “I” anywhere states your position and if it is expected to be treated with dignity (more presence of the sound I), your “I” would need to be ethical and honourable with the Identity you claim.

You attention is therefore drawn that you cannot ignore the distinct presence of the phonetic sound of “I” and its meaning of personal undertaking in each of the terms of reference that come together to define IDENTITY.

How can a person still ethically claim ethnic identity without dignity and responsibility towards ethnicity, endogeneity and endogamy, when the attributes are inseparable?

If you Identify yourself by any of the terms Mazdayasni Zarathushti, Parsi and Irani, then you cannot also say “I cannot or do not respect the interwoven connectivity with History, Religion and Spirituality which define our Civilisational Culture.

If anyone has suggested to you that you can only claim but not conduct yourself accordingly, then I pray you come to your own realization that such actions are at odds with each other wherein conduct cancels out the claim. If it was someone in my place, they may use harsher terms.

I am here to goad, help and lift. And so, I will help you to lift yourself with conscience.

With the help of scaffolding provided for Parsi Irani to better appreciate ‘The language of Revelation’, there is now no shortage of insights to connect the dots between history, scripture, prayer. Past, present and future have all been made much more visible than ever before.

I trust, your might have heard the English adage, ‘an idle mind as a devil’s workshop’.

Well, I had that figured back in my time with the words Vohu Manah (Good mind). A mind such that it discerns good from bad all the time, is engaged with higher learning, and directing itself to Asha. Its flip-side is the akem manah (bad or evil mind), where akem is the polar opposite of good which is Asha and Ashem (Vohu).

You will notice, where appropriate I chose phonetic patterns to make important contexts relatable. You will also find that pattern in 101 names of Ahura Mazda. Certain Gatha stanzas too, rhythm. Or you will find phonetic polar contrasts like Spenta Mainyu and angaray Mainyu. Humata & dushmatta, Houkhta & dujukhta, Huvarshta & dujvarashta, Asa (truth) and aka (wrong).

The more you familiarize yourself with Avesta and Gathas the more links you will discern.

SO, without me getting into vested interests who sidelined scripturally attested references of conscientious discernment (which distinguish that we are a Religion representing Ahuraic Revelation and not conversion), I will leave such people with generic questions for their conscience.

  • What type of evolvement are they or you facilitating?
  • Who’s doing the converting and convert to what type of understanding?
  • What understanding of our History, Religiosity and Spirituality do they or you hold? For if they or you really did, we would not be having this conversation.
  • With it being likely that they or you had not known much of what is now spelt out, what makes them or you compatible to convert, and what makes the proposed convertee from another ethnicity or religion compatible to be converted to ours?
  • How do they or you claim that your consciences are aligned to the Religio-Spiritual and Ritual Purity standards elaborated in our scriptures when you are breaching them?
  • If someone is still converted by breaching codes of conduct, who then will mentor and nurture them? You?
  • Who would be accountable for further breaches?
  • Would it first not be prudent to invest such ‘uplifting/saving’ endeavours on those who are already Parsi & Irani, instead of on any others?

Without a robust understanding of what being Parsi-Irani-Zarathushti represents as a complete synergistic whole, such conversion sounds as if a person purchases a police badge from a novelty store without them even being fully capable of policing their own self (conscience), let alone saving/uplifting anyone (conversion).

This is exactly how shallow, the talk of conversion sounds. No wonder that crude word Zoro was gullibly swallowed. Stargazing was not my past time. Putting my time to highest and best use to rise up to the stars with my conscience was.

In closing, let me provide some elementary illustrations of how I discern such misplaced enthusiasm to convert.

  • Like staring at the wrong star whilst claiming knowledge of astronomy & astrology.
  • Like armchair sports experts commenting on how the game could be better played.
  • Like demonstrating swimming whilst splashing in the shallow end, claiming you can also teach water how to behave.

Revelations of the type I elaborate, arise when conscience is elevated; not when conversion is the agenda. Come now, let me lovingly bring you back to where you belong. Ours is a religion of revelations from conscientiousness. Not recruitment. So, please:

Step off the conversion treadmill as I will show you shortly. It feeds you the illusion of movement while keeping you exactly where you began.

Step onboard the conscience-raising flight which our Faravahar represents. The Winged Holy Man is the one you are meant to emulate. Remind yourself of this each time you wear it, each time you see it. It is not just a badge of identity; it was a summons to rise.

Conscience-raising is the real journey; conversion is like a treadmill. The first takes you to my revelations. The other keeps you shallow.

Once revelations begin, you will discover, recruiting foreign people is no longer a priority. The priority is to lift yourself and own brethren first as I intend to lift you. Hold my hand and rise.

I would not have had to be blunt like this but when I see conversion and mix-faith marriage proponents breaching so many sacrosanct covenants constructed with my work and that of dedicated Zarathushtees, that I have to speak up.

Subject #3: Discover the interwoven trinity of Conscience, Revelation and Endogamy

– an echo of sacred harmony of Humata, Houkhta and Huvarashta.

For all of you who innocently or boastingly quote good thoughts, good words and good deeds, here is your moment of truth. It is time to be sincere to those words and understand their nitty-gritty to the nth degree.

Sadly like many overlooked insights, the discipline of Bounaak Paasbani (Endogamy) has slipped from Parsi Irani vocabulary as though it did not exist. Though equal in priority to daily prayer and central to our Religion, it has been cast aside as it does not appear to serve the ‘freedom of choice’ narrative some run with.

Absence of Religio-Cultural literacy, combined with apathy has reduced Humata, Houkhta and Huvarashta to be headlines without content.

However, ignorance does not alter truth. Misguided narrative can be amended and what has been misplaced can be restored. Those who have drifted could still return to the guidance of scriptures with sincerity and give themselves the opportunity to make things right.

Withheld thus far to be offered as counsel until at an appropriate juncture like this subject, the following two clarity-laden verses from the Farvardin Yasht’s Karda 13, (paras 49 and 50) illuminate the organic-endogamous-endogenous intergenerational connectivity expected of Parsi Irani. A continuity only possible through Bounaak Paasbaani.

Having done my part, any argument if at all, is not with me. It is with what you do on one hand compared to the the sanctity and wisdom of the scriptures that call for sincerity with spirituality.

Then, whether souls tolerate or are offended by your apathy, betrayal, or neglect is a matter between one’s conscience and their spiritual world.

Scripture and tradition caution every person to not arrogantly take the above risks; but if one so chooses, it is their soul alone which answers to the Maker and other souls. Everyone’s accountable, and some would say Karma keeps accounts.

As an introduction to those verses from the Fravardin Yasht, think of it as the Master-Prayer for the souls of the departed, meaning your family’s as well as our civilizational Ancestry. Those who toiled and died for us present day Parsi Irani to live life with freedoms they could not even imagine.

Naturally the Fravardin Yasht calls for the preservation of ancestral lineage and encourages Parsi Irani to pray for the progression of their Ancestral souls. The process serves as a bridge between this material world and the spiritual world we come from and go back to. A poignant reminder for Parsi Irani to lead life such that they themselves become better Ancestors to future generations and effectively sustain such sacred continuum. None of which can happen without Bounak Paasbaani.

The paragraphs starting with Ashaunam vanghush surao spentao fravasayo yazamaide and ending in yavaecha yavatataecha provide the single-most concentrated collection of insights as to the extent of connectivity that is recognized between past, present and future generations.

The following is the translation. Note some of the highlighted words and ponder on their meanings.

“We worship the good, strong, beneficent Fravashis of the righteous. We worship those Fravashis who on the occasion of the Hamaspathmadem Gahumbaar come down from the heavens for 10 days to the material world in order to help the faithful. We worship the Fravashis who are full of glory, who are full of healing power, who are victorious, who are mighty and overwhelming.

Through their brightness and glory they protect the creations of Mazda;
Through their strength they uphold the sky;
Through their power they uphold the earth;
Through their activity they sustain the waters;
Through their energy they maintain the plants;
Through their help women bring forth children safely;
Through their protection the righteous obtain victory.

And they ask, Who will praise us? Who will worship us? Who will make offerings to us? Who will sing our glory?

Who will keep love for us, who will welcome us with hands containing food (token ceremonial food like papri, malido, home cooked meals), clothing (syav, dedicate do making Sudreh) with a prayer causing to reach righteousness?

Whose name of us will be remembered? Whose soul will you worship?

To whom will such gifts be given? Which will remain fresh forever, for eternity?

When are such prayers prescribed to be done?

Well, they are astrologically affixed to be conducted in the last 10 days before the March Equinox to synch with Mother Earth’s final tilt of its axis completing the realignment of its equatorial belt (named Daadar-e-Gehan Din-e-Mazdyasni daade Zarathushti) to the Sun, all of which alter day, night and seasons across both hemispheres which you will all have experienced.

Defined as both Farvardigaan (Irani) and Mukhtaad (Parsi) this scripturally attested period signals Zarathushtrish spiritual synchronicity with the cosmos where an un-matched confluence occurs, i.e. The last 5 days of the 12th Iranian month (Spendarmard) dovetail into days named after my 5 Gathas as well as the 5 days of the 6th Gahumbaar which is Hamaspathmaidyem, all of which lead up to the equinox termed in our Religio-Culture as Nowruz, typically on 21st March.

It is in this heightened cosmic activity period that heightened-conscience prayers such as Satoom, Afargaan, Farokhshi (the recital of Farvardin Yasht), Baaj and Jashans are dedicated to the memory of the Fravashees stated as visiting their living family members on Mother Earth, and due to which the highest levels of Ritual Purity is stipulated.

Thoughtfully, because people make mistakes, the 10th day of the 10-day period is termed Pateti on which Patet Pashemani prayer is prescribed to be prayed. Its purpose is to declare your repentance for your wrong-doing, and so that you improve on your previous years and become a better, more conscientious person. It is disrespectful to fast-forward to Nowruz festivity without according respect to Farvardigaan customs and without having made your atonement, hopefully with noble new year resolutions.

Given that the purpose of heightened-conscience prayer is to accord sincere respectful gratitude and/or seek blessings, it is imperative that prayer processes occur in the prescribed manner and to the standards revealed in our scriptures & in oral tradition, and the wheel is not attempted to be reinvented. Particularly because in almost all prayers, the Fravashees – the names of Ancestral Souls are invoked to just about invite their spiritual presence, which ardent Parsi Irani experience.

It would hence be unconscionable to engage in prayer and then insult the presence of Souls by way of not being reverent to suit a new narrative. Like calling someone over for a meal, and not serving them well.

NOW, does any of the above leave any imagination that Fravashis, those very Souls of our Family’s Ancestors and our Civilizational Ancestors can expect any such reverence from a non-Zarathushti?

Can you as Parsi Irani, really sincerely claim that you like your non-Zarathushti friends’ Ancestors so much, that you can begin to think about them in the high-conscience manner the Farvardin Yasht spells out?

Bounaak Paasbaani is an informed choice to be respectfully adherent to our Religion, and not be defiant to spiritual order. Bounaak Paasbaani is not a preference or a label. It is privilege to preserve and pass-on to future generations.

Be it termed as Bedrock, Central, Civilizational Shield, Foundation stone, Fire-Protection Wall, Linchpin or Pillar; Bounaak Paasbaani preserves and protects the continuity of the originality of Mazdayasni Zarathushti, Parsi, Irani Identity. Serving as a sacred safety mechanism, it protects the Revelation from dilution; and protects its’ people with a protective perimeter preventing drift and dissolution.

Any less and it gets farcical. Tamper with endogamy, and the entire organicity of endogenous Historical-Religio-Spiritual-Cultural structure collapses. And so, let me lay out the following interlinked relationship structure with common-sense rationale.

Conscience / Revelation / Daily Prayer Endogamy
Baseline Awakening and Heightened Awareness Civilizational Protection Shield
Temporal Priority Precedes endogamy as the inner compass Arises after conscience is awakened, as a response to it
Architectural Role Lights the fire within Build fortification
Function & Purpose Illuminates right/wrong, sharpens visibility of ethical duty, reveals piety Protects identity, sets sacred boundaries and ensures continuity
Transmission Through inner awareness, scripture, or miraculous encounter with the Holy Through lineage, ritual, and cultural architecture

Conscience is the spark, the heavenly whisper that says, “Protect sacred revelations.”

Endogamy is the responsible response, the choice that says, “Yes, we will protect.”

And I offer to further explain with all my patience, with these three analogies.

  • The Unlit Lamp: Claiming to be Parsi or Irani without conscientious daily prayer is like calling a lamp “a source of light” but refusing to place oil and ignite its wick. The lamp’s form may remain, but the function; the very reason it exists, is dead.
  • The Unanchored Ship: Claiming to be Parsi or Irani without daily prayer (with ritual purity) is like insisting a ship still belongs to the harbour whilst it is rusting, its anchor broken and its flag, the very emblem of its identity is not to be seen, or at half-mast or torn (like Sudreh-Kushti not worn or torn). Unmaintained, rust will eventually eat away at the painted name and without the reliable anchor of discipline and the living flag of practice, the vessel will drift as something which no longer knows its correct course.
  • The Unrooted Tree: Claiming to be Parsi or Irani is like pointing to a tree that has been uprooted and claiming it is still part of the orchard. Without roots, it cannot draw nourishment, cannot bear fruit, and cannot pass its seeds forward.

In addition to all the stated pertinence of Bounaak Paasbaani to Parsi Irani, it (endogamy) is utmost essential to maintain the Ritual Purity that’s integral to our personal daily prayers as well as the many prescribed types of prayers revealed to Parsi Irani in our scriptures.

Ritual purity is the precursor to prayer ceremonies done by Mobeds for their own families or for the families of those that avail of their services, for either celebratory purposes (Birthday, Navjote & Naavar, Wedding Blessings) or obligatory purposes like the Boi, Naahns, Nirangdin or funeral prayers. They all necessitate varying levels of Chokkhai, i.e. Ritual Purity.

Only then can the sanctity of what is being meant and related to in the prayers can be complemented by the actions of those conducting the prayer as well as for those requesting for such prayers to be conducted.

It would be unplausible that as Parsi Irani you claim to be doing heightened-conscience prayers paying homage to Ahura Mazda, His Amesha Spentas / Yazatas, and/or the Fravashees, but also claim a non Mazdayasni Zarathushtrish can genuinely claim to relate to them.

Please consider this parallel.

  • Would you be able to fully relate to a movie in a totally different language, even though that story is audibly and pictorially supported?
  • Would you even sit through such a movie at all?
  • If not, how is a non-Parsi Irani or so called self-anointed Zarathushti ever going to be able to relate to the History which our prayers are invariably revisiting?
  • How could a Parsi Irani purport to marry such person (no offence inferred or implied) and plausibly expect them to unreservedly subscribe to all things Zarathushti, as if such person was a blank slate with no past History and culture of their own?
  • Without gynaecological-historical continuity, compatibility and conscience, how is genuine connectivity expected to be consummated/commenced/sustained?

I ask of the conversion and anti-Bunaak Paasbaani proponent.

  • DO YOU REALLY WANT TO MESS WITH SUCH EXPLICITLY STATED SPIRITUALITY?
  • DO YOU REALLY WANT TO SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES OF BREACHING RITUAL PURITY?
  • DO YOU REALLY THINK ANY CONVERT CAN RELATE TO SUCH PROFOUND SPIRITUALITY WITH RITUAL PURITY, WHEN SOME BORN PARSI or IRANI STRUGGLE?

Returning back to the emphasis on Bounaak Paasbaani,

It is irrefutable that only through Endogamy, the high level of ritual purity ‘chokkhai’ can be attained and maintained. Expecting someone from outside our Faith to uphold our Zarathushtrian standards of ritual purity is like assuming that someone who wears gloves to prepare sandwiches is capable to also assist in a surgical theatre. Albeit, the outward appearance of gloved hands may look similar, the forethought, preparation, standard of training, commitment, purity protocol and ritualized discipline, are of an entirely different order.

As highlighted by Covid-19, hygiene certainly has it levels. The high standard of mental clarity and physical finesse demanded in the heightened conscience prayers I issued or influenced simply cannot co-exist with cross-contamination or pilferage without insulting the scripturally prescribed processes of our prayer.

Purity is about coherence of thought, word, and deed attained by the act of becoming clean and keeping physically clean as a stepping stone to mental and spiritual cleanliness. A household built from two faiths cannot sensibly and sincerely cannot transmit the nature of purity expectations of the Zarathushti faith, because such household invariably transmits competing thought processes, even if not conflicting.

Purity, as I Zarathushtra taught, is not only about washing hands and wearing pristine pure white clothes. As analogies,

  • It is not about consuming tea. It is about serene symbolization of the Japanese tea making ceremony that people pay money to experience.
  • And whilst at it, not befit the saying “the kettle is hotter than the tea inside”. For e.g. I have seen Parsi Irani learn martial artists, ever so flexibly bow at their seniors, dojo doors and podiums, but inexplicably outside the dojo they are stiff and indifferent to our traditions. Like the kettle being hotter than the tea, some Parsi Irani are even hotter about martial arts compared to their Asian compatriots who are the descendants of such traditions. But expect those Parsi Irani to be as hot with our Religio-Culture, and they are either hostile or cold?
  • Perhaps they are saying that you can comply with some other cultural and societal disciplines or traditions, but you feel stiffness towards ours?

In our Iranian civilization it used to be that we were known for three things. Speak the truth, be top archers, and ride a horse, superbly. Now the only expectation is Speak the truth, and some of you do not even do that well.

Purity though has been largely held-up by Athornaan (priests) who have proven that intergenerational tradition has been a time-tested mechanism attesting Bounaak Paasbaani is the only formula to ensure the interlinked integrities of the Conscience Mind, our Revelations, our standards of Ritual purity for our standards of Prayer and connectivity to Ahura Mazda, Amesha Spentas, Yazats and Ancestors.

The bulk of Zarathushti Athornaan (clergy) have diligently upheld such strict oral tradition with intergenerational transfer, and Zarathushti laity should follow their example. Not oppose, ridicule or coerce through financial pressure, low-income priests to sell their souls like some laity have already done.

Ritual purity is not just external cleanliness, it is conscientious coherence of Asha-laden, Good thoughts, words, and deeds.

Endogamy is not exclusionary. It is devotional preservation. It is not arrogance. It as respectful organic continuity. It is not fractious. It is endogenous fidelity to Asha that I organically originated as me being a product (child/progeny) of Bounaak Paasbaani / Endogamy, myself.

Expecting outsiders to do so is not just implausible but unrealistic, if not for personal vested interests whilst genuine best interests are sidelined.

With such explanations placed in your hands, if you now honestly distil the thematic architecture of scriptural references underpinning the terms Ahurish Zarathushtrish and Mazdayasno Zarathushtrish (as explained earlier), the Trinities stated as the Title of this subject become unmistakable.

Raising the Conscience to the standards scripturally set out in the Revelations requires the structural mechanism and ritual purity only possible from Endogamous transfer of code of conduct.

To support cross-cultural relationships and mix-faith marriage, is to cause carnage on a critically endangered historic Religio-Spiritual civilization.

If you remember all of this, you will not be shaken by vested-interest claims that anyone, anywhere, can declare themselves of our lineage and call themselves Zarathushtees.

Don’t go out to spread my Religion as you may have planned. Foremost, you need to yourself entrench my teachings deep into your own self and your genealogical family who have the in-born potential to connect to me.

When so many of you haven’t even got my name right, when so many of you think every white-turbaned man is a Dastoorjee, how do you rate your capability to correctly spread my name?

I hope you can now discern with the clarity I laid out for you.

Some of you may have heard, operating above the line or below the line, or holding the line. So I ask, what line will you hold, and will you be above it or remain below it?

Closing Summary:

I hope you remember my letter’s opening. To bring you all back from the brink on which our civilization stands, is the reason I have come back.

Accordingly I hope, as I had requested, that you have been courteous to not have jumped to this summary without familiarizing yourself through the previous 3 subjects. If you have, please be so kind to be honest and go back through the three subjects for the summary to make better sense.

Good if you have read them, as I now set about as Prophet to separate the wheat from the chaff.

Being a Prophet betrayed and wounded by my own people, I speak with pain in seeing some of you making choices without data inputs from the scriptures and history I originated.

It appears some of you have forgotten that the bedrock of our type of Spiritual-Religio-Cultural Identity happens to be scripturally prescribed spiritual choices of conscience based on Humata, Houkhta and Huvarshta. In plain English, Accountability, Fidelity, Honesty, Integrity, Responsibility, Transparency, etc. Attributes your employer too would expect from you!

Such was the architecture I designed for people of spiritual potential to become further advanced. The type of fine quality which kept your Ancestors alive when invaders tried to erase them and hardship made it tempting to give up (which they did not). Not lip-service or hollow bravado about good thoughts, good words and good deeds without really stopping to think, what is the definition of ‘good’, really meant in the 3 goods.

Little wonder that some treat the architecture of Parsi Irani identity as nice to speak option, but not necessarily to mean and honour with due accountability. Had it not been for those amongst you who remain admirably resolute to honour and preserve, our Religion would be clinically close to lifeless. I couldn’t expect disingenuous masqueraders to uphold the order that Yaa Ahurish Zarathushtrish embodies.

I cannot go to the natives in Africa, Asia or Americas and announce, “Hey, I am Prophet Zarathushtra. Treat me as one of you. I am polite, helpful, quick to learn, good-natured, good-looking and I don’t argue. Accept me as your fellow ethnic compatriot. Take me to your temples and let me join your ceremonial life. I am so capable, I could even perform your rituals for you. I will even manage your associations and communal affairs by drawing on my experiences at Parsi Panchayat and other Zarathushti associations, worldwide. I will be so integrated that you will not know the difference.

If they were not offended by such an overture, and they would be right to reject me, they would laugh me back into the stratosphere for imagining I could become one of them.

For those who are historically unrelated and ancestrally unlinked, it becomes an insurmountable challenge for an endangered, micro, Spiritual-Religio-Culture like ours to accommodate. It is almost like expecting a Doctoral-level advisor to suddenly accommodate catering to students at primary ‑ school level. The mismatch is not about worth; it is about context, continuity, consistency, preparation, and the depth required to be responsible with the upkeep of a tradition, as ancient, as delicate and as outnumbered as ours.

Yet this is precisely what some Parsi Irani assume about the nonParsi they think can simply become one of us, and that is precisely why the following questions need lateral consideration.

Don’t take offence, because I have already endured more than enough offence from such behaviour.

  • Do some of you Parsi and Irani really expect the principles of Ancestral lineage, history and heritage which form identity, to bend only for you?
  • Do I hear some of you question why a non-Zarathushti cannot just become Parsi or Irani? As if ethnicity is a garment.
  • Does it not appear a touch ‘entitled’ to demand such expectations when you are first already in breach of the expectations you were to uphold?
  • How can our own indifferent people justify leading others (who are indifferent to their own origins), and then supposedly add-value to our Religio-Culture?
  • How can it be that when you are yourself bereft of essential Historical-Religio-Spiritual-Cultural literacy that you claim being able to help another person who is historically unrelated and ancestrally unlinked, to know better than you yourself do?

Some of you abandon your flock, wander elsewhere, engage exogenously, and then return asking why the endogenous herd (our Religio-Culture) you abandoned and betrayed, looks smaller. And then you opinionate that you can increase Parsi ‑ Irani ‑ Zarathushti numbers by importing exogenous people who, however sincerely they may try, cannot become related to me by Ancestry, Ethnicity, History, Religiosity or Spiritually.

Through all such inconsistencies, where is the possibility for a ‘come one, come all’ approach within the Masterclass of High Conscience that our Religion represents? Not that those born Parsi or Irani are automatically “Masterclass” by default, but at least they stand within an ancestral and historical continuum from which the spark of conscience can be re ‑ ignited.

But when individuals are historically unrelated and ancestrally unlinked, it places a different kind of strain on a system that is already fragile.

It is then totally unrealistic to expect our Religio-Culture’s fragile structure to simultaneously also absorb those from outside our lineage and elevate them to the level of understanding expected in ours.

If I really stepped out from that photo-frame or for when you meet your Maker, below is a summary I would read out to you following the above questions.

  • Similar to the Greeks violating my name, some of you violate the intergenerational continuity of our Spiritual-Religio-Culture and in so doing, desecrate its hard-won identity, paid by the priceless value of Ancestral blood, lives and suffering.
  • You polished your accents to pronounce the Greek label Zoroastrian so stylishly. Though hollow of meaning, some of you seem to emphasize the Zoro with so much Zor (strength) as if you are yourselves Zoro swinging off a rope; but you let the Iranian-Persian mainframe of my illustrious name and my teachings languish.
  • At different times, sadly our identity was trampled by outsiders, but now even more sadly, it is some people from the inside who tamper or trample it.
  • How others smeared our Religio-Culture from the outside, is sadly how some of you smear it from the inside.
  • You ignore what Avesta, Amesha Spentas, Yazatas, Fravashees, Fire-Temples stand for, mock those who are guardians amongst you, but you imitate the uncaring.
  • Where for centuries, our Ancestors sacrificed all they had and endured hardships beyond description to uphold Bounak Paasbaani (Endogamy), some of their descendants now abandon it, thereby betraying those very Ancestors. The former stood firm against external adversity; but some of you latter lot capitulate to internal apathy. Compared to some of you, your previous generations had real guts that they did not surrender Bounak Paasbaani even when faced with death. Please do look back at them and learn.
  • Some of you pledge fidelity to non Zarathushti, but breach hereditary fidelity to your custodianship of Zarathushti Ancestry, betraying our noble Ancestors in the process.
  • You call yourselves free-thinking, but not realize, you are unanchored; and will invariably have to meet your Makers and answer.

Hence, it would be fair to remember that one of the reasons for me to come back on to your radar in this manner to pull you back from the brink is that.

Even the stars I supposedly gaze at, know better than to drift out of their constellation.
Even a donkey knows how to stay with its herd, although he has to work hard to earn his keep.

I also feel that our innocent and gullible have been misled and hence leave you with the following upsides. Do consider the following possibilities.

  • How immensely honorable and sensible would it be for Parsi and Irani teachers (current & retired) to respectfully take-up our scriptures (enumerated herein) as their Ancestrally inherited Alma Mater and join hands with Athornaans who are already involved in teaching and serving, to jointly usher an era of Zarathushtrish Renaissance? Similar to the principles of the European Renaissance (1300 to 1600AD) after Europe’s dark ages (500 to 1000AD) and the Crusades (1096 to 1291AD).
  • How hugely accountable and better would it be to ensure via sustained awareness-focused Religio-Spiritual-Cultural education that those already born as Parsi or Irani exercise the higher responsibility repeatedly recommended across our scriptural references?
  • How commendable would it be for all Associations to start re ‑ examining their Constitutions and audit which of their policies may be detrimental to the long ‑ term sustainability of our Religio ‑ Spiritual ‑ Culture? Particularly given much ambiguity stands clarified now. Afterall, manufacturers of automobiles, consumer goods, food, and pharmaceuticals see it as their ‘Duty of Care’ to promptly initiate product recalls whenever any aspect of their processes pose a risk. Being that many Parsi and Irani individuals across the world feel disturbed by the conduct of our communal associations, it would be contingent upon office-bearers and trustees to conduct ‘best practice’ audits and not regard themselves as infallible. Doing nothing would be indefensible.
  • How laudable would it be to prioritize the preservation of our rich heritage’s identity as Patriotism underpinned by knowledge of the merits of Ancestral Bounak Paasbani, i.e. Endogamy, no different to endogeneity and organicity. It is nothing to laugh at considering Evangelical Churches term their endeavours as Christ-centered relationships, honouring God with your body, sexual integrity, waiting for marriage.
  • How personally meritorious would it be, were all Parsi and Irani individuals start to aspire to a higher communal good instead of a dive to lowest common denominator type of personal behaviour? Like Jonas Saulk said, how about we all ‘aspire to be good ancestors’.
  • How principled would it be, were wavering Parsi and Irani stop wavering, and re-pledge Fidelity to Faith? Don’t just fall for a neat smile, a helpful person, or a good body, and give up what your Ancestors fought to keep. Have some self-pride. Don’t sell your soul.
  • How responsible would it be, were those who have long wavered, now politely desist meddling with an endangered Religio-Cultural and let itself heal?

Bounak Paasbaani was not a hobby I invented. It is not a nostalgic relic to be admired from afar. It is living heightened conscientiousness. Endogamy is well and truly grounded with being organic and endogenous.

Were Parsi and Irani to exercise responsibility as expected to begin with (and thankfully many do), then the question of accommodating a flood of outsiders would slow down to a trickle. Those still bent on deviating ought not be an endangered Religio-Culture’s problem to carry.

In wrapping up, like Ahura Mazda, I too live in lament that some of you descendants are not just living with the corruption of my name (to Zoroaster) but also playing football with what were Ahura Mazda’s revelations to me which I had thoughtfully entrusted into the care of our people.

With references now amply supplied, please don’t ever go about saying, “where is it written?”. If you can’t see and fathom them despite the care taken to extrapolate over 150 insights, you well know the term you could describe yourself with.

There you go. I hope I have helped somewhat. I am certain you at least get my drift. And I trust that Ahura Mazda sees that I have again endeavoured to explain as clinically clean as I could in this 21st century.

If you think of HIM or me long enough, we may even appear by your bedside again for a friendly chat. Or you could take up the free, anonymous counselling this Foundation offers.

Until then, Yours with utmost affection and care

Zarathushtra Spitamaan

PS:

Ahura Mazda, His Amesha Spentas & Yazatas, and I are watching over you.

I regret having had to use sharp words but I know you will invariably meet with the above-stated, as being your Makers, and that conversation then, could be sharper than this. So, I’d rather save you now from that, and ease your life forward with heightened conscience.

May Ahura Mazda and May Vohu Manah Prevail in You.
